Justin Bieber's biggest prank yet!

Justin Bieber shocked everyone this week with the release of his video for his new single "Beauty and a Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj. He not only released what promises to be a "slayer on the charts" but also got back on all the rumours and gossip that have surrounded him since the beginning of his career.

"Since i was 14 i have had a lot of things said about me, from dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family ...To saying i had a baby with a woman i never even met. nude pics, drugs, my family, my character," Bieber tweeted on Friday. "But today...today i get to be in on it..."

When the news that Justin Bieber's laptop and camera were stolen from his tour manager's office while he was performing surfaced on the 10th of October, a lot of his fans were shocked. Everyone questioned the security at the venue - Beliebers couldn't get in and some randomer found his way backstage somehow? Justin's fans all thought it was disrespectful. Justin tweeted the following:

Of course, Beliebers got really mad at the thief then. It was obvious the footage meant a lot to Justin, and lots of people were wondering what it was. Things heated up when an unknown person tweeted Justin from the account @gexwy, showing obvious signs of blackmail. He also implied he had outrageous videos. Of course, celebrity bloggers and gossip sites started rumours. Read Perez Hilton's version of the story here. People started to get really curious about what Justin had to hide, and fans became worried and distressed. Justin fired back at the mysterious tweeter, saying that his fans would be there for him no matter what.
The supposed thief threatened to release the footage at noon the next day...and the world was waiting.

What nobody was expecting was that Justin had pranked everybody! At noon, both the popstar and the "thief" tweeted a link to Justin's Vevo account - it was Justin's new music video! It was completely out of the blue.  I'll post the video down below. By the way, notice that it was written, shot and directed by Justin Bieber, which really proves that he is a talented young man, despite the controversy.

I am in love with this video and everything about it, from the unusual promotion techniques right down to the choreography. Anyway, nobody's ever done this before. It's totally original and put together very well. Here are a few screenshots of tweets from fans and critics which started pouring in minutes after the video was posted. They all seem very impressed, right?

Anyway, to wrap it up, I have to say I've never been more pround to call myself a Belieber. This prank really showed people how creative Justin can be, and I hope it helps people realise that they should look beyond all the gossip and rumours, because there is very little truth to them.
